Club News

We are holding work days to prepare the track for summer on 19th & 26th April, this including general tidys, astro turfing the grassed area so we can use multi-surface off-road racing, painting and mowing.

All help is greatly appreciated in order to give the track a good fresh look to kickstart the summer!. A new site has been set up covering off-road activitys in the east midlands area, this site currently also includes race reports from the recent BMCC Indoor Off-Road Event, and entry forms for off-road events, see www.me-or.co.uk. Tamiya Eurocup entry forms are no online, see the following link for more information http://www.tamiyaeurocup.co.uk. Just a reminder that BMCC indoor off-road series starts in february, see leaflet for more information here. The race dates for summer have started to come through, firstly we have confirmation of the Tamiya Eurocup which will take place on 17th August, also we have our dates for the Off-Road regional series which are 2wd on 4th May and 4wd on 15th June, TORC meetings which are 29th June & 21st September, and finally BTCC on the 29th August. All dates have been added to the Club Calendar, club series information and dates are still to be confirmed. The first batch have arrived and will be available for collection on saturday night, everyone who got there memberships in before new year are there, see Andy Wesson to collect yours. Your favourite local model car club will be putting on three amazing indoor off road meetings on the first Sunday of February, March and April 2008 at our indoor venue at greasley. We will only be charging £5 for club members and £6.50 for non members for a whole days off road racing. You can pre book by emailing me at alanwillows@yahoo.co.uk with your Name, class (2wd or 4wd) and crystals. (Maximum 64 drivers only). Tyres will be the now common Schumacher mini pins. Just a quick note to say we will be running a special one off meeting to celebrate the new year, this will be an electric off-road meeting at the Hall Park venue on the 1st January 2008. We are pleased to announce we will be holding a two week special mini-series over xmas, with £100 of raffle prizes, xmas selection boxes and trophys. This will start with a qualifying evening on the 22nd December followed by a finals evening on the 29th Decemeber, all are welcome and just the usual club fee's apply. We are now collecting membership applications for 2008, membership costs to both the club and brca remain unchanged for 2008 (£10 and £22 respectively). The membership pack is now available to download, or as a printed copy from a race director. We are accepting forms & payment in person or by post, for further information see the General Information page. The minutes for the 2007 AGM are now online here. The general information page has also been updated to reflect the changes to the committee A new forum has been brought to my attention which is dedicated to Off-Road Racing, within it there is a specific section for off-road racing in the East Midlands area, please see the website for more details Oople.com. The championship results for round 1 of the off-road winter series are now online here. Also the championship results for the current indoor saturday series after round 3 are here. We will be checking membership cards over the next few weeks to ensure the computer archive is upto date, if you are not yet a member please print a copy of the form from the general information section and bring it a long to take advantage of the reduced price membership for the remainder of 2007, if you are a member please ensure you bring your card along to racing. The championship results for the final round have now been added to the emnorc page, broxtowe model car club would like to thank all the clubs and entrants involved for making the series great fun for everyone. The winter race dates for the off-road series have now been confirmed and added to the race calendar, also the indoor carpet meeting on the 14th October has been cancelled. Finally, next week is the first week of the BMCC indoor winter championship series 1, this will run for 8 weeks and the best 5 results count towards the championship, with trophys to be awarded to the top 3 races in each class. A notification to all members that this years Annual General Meeting will be held from 7pm on Wednesday 7th November 2007 at the Queen Adelaide Pub, at Swingate. This is a chance for all members to hear about what has happened during the last year of racing and whats planned for the upcoming year and who will be on the club commitee so we would like to see as many people as possible attend. Firstly, I would like to congratulate those that are the winners of the prize vouchers at todays off-road meeting, the event was a success with numerous new faces turning up to race. We have decided to continue to run off-road through the winter as a 6 meeting series, dates and details are to be confirmed but the proposed dates are available for viewing on our discussion forum (Click here for details) please check and have your say on which dates would suit you! Broxtowe model car club and PBM Racing have joined forces for this Sundays electric off road meeting. There will be cash voucher prizes for the top three in each final for this Sundays meeting, these will be £30 for a 1st place overall, £20 for 2nd and £10 for third for each final.

Get down there this sunday and enjoy a great days racing, £5 entry per car. Don't miss out! The last of the summer outdoor race meetings take place over the next couple of weekends, with the last friday evening meetign tonight (7th) and the last of the summer series sunday meetings next weekend on the (16th). It's not been a great year for summer racing due to the consistantly bad weather through the peak of the season, so I am sure most of you are looking forward to more regular race meetings in the comfort of the sports hall and BMCC look forward to seeing you there on Saturday 15th (the race calendar has been updated with the indoor season dates).

Finally, I would also like to point out that since we are now into September anyone wishing to join the club for the remainder of the year can do so at the reduced rate of £5 this is great news for anyone new to the club or joining us just for the indoor season (See the general information page for more details). The championship results have been updated to include the results for the delayed double round 6/7. They are available online in the EMNORC events section. It has now been confirmed that we will be able to resume using the mains electricity at the Greasley Hall indoor racing venue. This winter we will be running two main classes for touring cars stock & modified, both classes will allow the use of rated brushless systems, we will also be racing off-road buggy's with worn or road tyres. Finally, we will also be running 1:12th circuit (4 cell, unlimited). I have now updated the website to remove the Junction 28 venue as it is now sadly closed for industrial development, the EMNORC page remains online and the final EMNORC round has been moved to A1 Racing Venue at Grantham, I will continue to post this years EMNORC results. We at BMCC hope to continue to support people interested in off-road racing by using the electric offroad track at Hall Park more regularly, more details to follow. Well despite bad weather and coinciding regional meetings we still had a good few racers turn up and although the weather was not great we were able to run 4 heats of qualifying and 2 finals without anyones motors or speedo's frying! I was resident photographer and camera man and have took some photos and video to give people and idea of the track size and facilitys. Please see the website gallery. We will be setting up the offroad racing again on our final scheduled sunday meeting on the Sunday 16th September and hope to see a few more buggy racers turn up. There will be a special race day this sunday at the hall park venue which will see the long awaited return of the electric offroad grass track as well as touring cars. People are welcome to bring along whatever they can and have a go, gates will be opening at 7:30am in order to prepare the track for racing and booking in will start at around 9am and racing around 10am. Race fee's are £5 members and £6 non-members. The championship results for EMNORC Round 8 are now available online in the EMNORC events section. All dates for the winter indoor series have now been added to the on-road race calander, racing will start indoor on Saturday 15th September, running through till April. The venue has also been booked for one sunday a month, more details are to follow with regards to what events will be running on these dates.
