Club officers report
Chairman-
Alan was generally pleased with his first year as chairman. For the future he wants to look towards resurfacing the on road track and developing the off road further.
He was disappointed with the lack of help running meetings outdoor this year and has stated that he is only willing to run approx ½ of the meetings next year. So this means a race director for Wednesday’s is needed and some help with Sunday meetings will be needed.
He thanked Andy hicklin, Steve brook, Craig Marshall, Aaron birkin and Dave Watson. Special thanks were also expressed for the work martin Thorpe has done over the years as treasurer and committee member.
Alan finished by saying that he hoped to get more kids racing, encouraging cheaper racing. He also encouraged people to put them selves forward for the committee or just to help when at meetings. The most important thing was to come and race and support the club.
Treasurer-
Martin produced accounts for year ending 18/10/08. He reported that the club is still in a healthy financial position, with a small profit being shown for year. Income for the year was very similar to last year. He stated that we had spent a lot over the last year major purchases included the heat board and a new laptop.
Martin also said that he would not be standing for the position next year. He was thanked by the chairman for many years hard work.
Membership-
Craig stated that the postal membership scheme had proved a success and would be continued for the following year. Membership currently stands at around the 80 mark.
He said he would be happy to stand again.
Craig also hosts the web site, which he has kept up to date with what the club are doing
Which provides a valuable source of information to members.
Secretary
Andy hicklin stated that he had liased with the council to keep them informed of our race dates. The extension to the licence agreement had been taken, this will last for a further 2 years. Andy also said he was happy to stand again
Race director-
Andy Wesson stated we had had another successful outdoor season the biggest success’s being the reintroduction of off road racing at broxtowe. The 2 regionals attracted more racers than the mid-east region had seen for some time.
The two Torc meetings were well attended, however numbers for btcc and tamiya euro cup were down on previous years.

Race/ event reports 2008 season
Btcc numbers well down (held on a bank holiday, clashed with k.o. grand prix) although numbers have been down at all venues this year.
Concerned whether this will affect their decision to come to us next year.
Torc numbers were up on last year, which was encouraging.
Tamiya numbers down on previous years, martin reported that they were keen to keep a northern venue, which would be broxtowe.
Off road regionals 2wd huge success over 50 drivers took part the biggest attendance at a mi-east regional for many years. 4wd 40 drivers considering weather was another big success
Club off roads relatively successful although concerns expressed regarding numbers compared to amount of effort required running these events.
Weeknight meetings
Weather played its part again this year Fri nights being fairly stable with numbers around the 20mark. Wed nights initially started well but then numbers dropped off it was felt after discussion that the multisurface was too unpredictable and a remedy needed to be sought if it was to be successful next year.
It was decided to try and run a similar number of events next year.
Race fees and summer season ticket-
A summer season ticket was proposed to enable people to purchase a pass that would enable them to race all weeknight racing during the summer. This provoked much discussion. A fee of £25 was agreed subject to final committee approval depending on whether both Wednesday and Friday nights took place. This scheme would only be available to club members, and it was hoped that this would encourage more casual racers to join.
Race fees were agreed as (weeknights and sat nights) £3.50 members and £2.50 per extra family member under 16, £5 non-members,
Sunday fees £6 members £4 per additional family member under 16, £8 non-members.
Wednesday night race director-
Alan said he was unable to commit to run Wednesday evenings any longer. Unfortunately no one volunteered to take on this role, it was felt a new surface was required to race on. The possibility of racing on the grass track was also raised; the committee would discuss this.
Track renovations-
This was discussed at length regarding track resurfacing, drainage and a complete redesign. Committee will discuss this further but it was felt unlikely for the club to be able to afford it this year.
a.o.b.
Colin hardy proposed to include finals during each meeting but after discussion it was shown that due to time constraints especially on a Saturday night this would not be possible.
Torc, concern was expressed that Wrexham mcc was losing its track and would leave to few tracks to make a valid series. Alan willows said he would be attending the Torc meeting and would raise this with organisers.
Club promotions, it was suggested that the club needs to promote itself more to encourage more new members. Ideas included car park races and the possibility of returning to Wollaton Park
